2 - 3d Modelling of character

Modelling the character according to 2d flat images, giving them depth and 3d space.
2d designs and 3d designs are different, stylized characters looking better in 3d .
illustrator needs to keep this in mind while designing the character what makes 3d character good is sense of depth, shadows and smooth surfaces.
Briefly transferring 2d drawing to 3d means you multiply your canvas with 3 so you may need to think about how your character will look from side and back views
Not every 2d design looks good in 3d

3d model need to have clean topology to able to rig, texture and animate it which is time consuming process. Models that are from 3rd parties may work or may not.
